This Notice covers Personal Information that Altasciences collects through Altasciences websites and public pages that Altasciences controls, during in-person events, and in connection with commercial inquiries and transactions. This Notice does not apply to Anonymized Information.

Job applicants. California job applicants should refer to the Privacy Notice for California Job Applicants.

Statutory exclusions. This Notice uses the CCPA definition of Personal Information. It does not cover information that the CCPA excludes, including de-identified or aggregated information, publicly available information, clinical-trial information governed by other rules, HIPAA or CMIA information, or information subject to the Fair Credit Reporting Act. For clarity, this Notice does not cover information collected as part of a clinical trial.

Sale or Sharing of Personal Information and Opt-Out Preference Signals

Sale and Sharing Status by Category

Altasciences does not sell Personal Information. Altasciences does not share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising. This statement applies to all categories listed in the Personal Information We Collect section. If Altasciences changes these practices, Altasciences will update this Notice and will provide all required links and controls at or before the point of collection.

Global Privacy Control and Other Opt-Out Preference Signals

Altasciences recognizes and honors a valid Global Privacy Control signal as an instruction to opt out of any sale or sharing where California law requires recognition. The opt-out applies to the browser or device that sends the signal. To apply an opt-out across devices, use the link below or contact us.

“Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” Link

Use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link on the Online Services, or email privacyofficer@altasciences.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share request.”

Sensitive Personal Information and the Right to Limit

How Altasciences Uses Sensitive Personal Information

Altasciences uses Sensitive Personal Information only for purposes that California law permits without a right to limit. These purposes include authentication of an online account that uses a password, security and integrity of systems and data, and payment processing where Personal Information forms part of remittance or payee details.

Altasciences does not use Sensitive Personal Information to infer characteristics about a person. Based on current practices, the “Right to Limit” does not apply. If Altasciences’ practices change, Altasciences will update this Notice and provide any required right to limit.

Whether the Right to Limit Applies

Because Altasciences uses Sensitive Personal Information only for permitted purposes and does not use Sensitive Personal Information to infer characteristics, the Right to Limit does not apply to the current practices described in this Notice.

Retention of Personal Information

Retention Periods or Criteria by Category

Altasciences retains Personal Information for as long as necessary to meet the purposes described in the Purposes for Which Altasciences Uses Personal Information section and to satisfy legal, accounting, audit, and regulatory requirements. The table in the Personal Information We Collect section lists typical retention for each category.

If a different retention applies to a specific program or record type, Altasciences will disclose that period at collection or in a relevant notice.

Study-Related Records and Legal Anchors

Study-related records generally fall outside the CCPA because other laws govern those records, including clinical-trial rules and human-subject protections. When online interest leads to recruitment or screening, the retention of resulting study records follows those laws and study documents. The Online Privacy Notice explains online interest collection. Study documents control study records.

Backups and Legal Hold

Backups expire on their normal cycles. Altasciences does not restore backups solely to delete specific records unless the law requires this. When a legal hold applies, Altasciences preserves affected records and suspends ordinary deletion until the hold ends.

Your Rights Under the CCPA

You can ask Altasciences to take the actions below. This section explains what each right covers and how Altasciences handles the request.

General Rules for CCPA Requests

  • Verification required: Access, correction, and deletion require a verifiable consumer request.
  • No verification required: Opt out of sale or sharing and a request to limit use or disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information (SPI) do not require verification. Altasciences may deny a request it reasonably and in good faith believes is fraudulent.
  • How Altasciences verifies: Altasciences matches information you provide to information it already holds. If Altasciences must collect extra information only to verify, it deletes that extra information after verification.

Right to Know and Access, Including Portability

You can request the categories of Personal Information Altasciences collects, the sources, the purposes, the recipients, and the specific pieces of Personal Information Altasciences holds about you. Altasciences provides specific pieces in a readily usable and portable format where feasible. Altasciences does not disclose raw values of highly sensitive elements such as full government IDs, full account numbers, passwords, or unique biometric templates. Altasciences describes the type instead. If information is only in non-searchable legal archives and not used commercially, Altasciences describes those record types rather than retrieving them.

Right to Correct

Altasciences uses commercially reasonable efforts to correct inaccurate Personal Information, considers documentation you provide, and instructs its Service Providers and Contractors to correct their copies. If Altasciences denies the request, it explains why and may offer deletion when appropriate.

Right to Delete

Altasciences deletes, de-identifies, or aggregates Personal Information on active systems and instructs Service Providers and Contractors to delete. Altasciences notifies relevant third parties if it previously sold or shared the information, unless doing so is impossible or requires disproportionate effort. Legal exceptions may apply, such as completing a transaction, security and fraud prevention, debugging, legal obligations, research with consent, or internal uses aligned with your relationship. If an exception applies, Altasciences restricts use to that purpose.

Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing

Altasciences does not sell Personal Information and does not share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If practices change, Altasciences will provide a Do Not Sell or Share control and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.

Right to Limit Sensitive Personal Information

Altasciences uses Sensitive Personal Information only for purposes permitted by law and does not use it to infer characteristics. If practices change, Altasciences will enable a Limit control and complete limitation requests within 15 business days.

Non-Discrimination and Financial Incentives

Altasciences does not discriminate against you for exercising CCPA rights. For financial incentives, see the Financial Incentives section.

How to Exercise Your Rights

How to Submit a Request

Use any of these methods. Tell Altasciences which right you want to exercise and provide enough detail to help Altasciences locate your records.

Altasciences also honors GPC signals for sale or sharing opt-outs.

Authorized Agents

Authorized agents must provide proof of authorization. Altasciences may ask you to verify your identity directly or to confirm the authorization.

Timing, Scope, and Fees

  • Acknowledgement: 10 business days for access, correction, or deletion requests.
  • Response: 45 calendar days, with one 45-day extension if needed and explained.
  • Opt-out and limit: No later than 15 business days.
  • Scope of disclosures: Altasciences generally covers the prior 12 months, unless a longer look-back would require disproportionate effort.
  • Fees: No fee unless a request is manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive. If a fee applies, Altasciences explains why and provides a cost estimate first.
  • Downstream action: When Altasciences grants correction or deletion, it instructs Service Providers and Contractors to act and notifies relevant third parties for prior sale or sharing where required.
